Sophie Clay, Director of Operations

About

Sophie Clay

With over 15 years’ experience across customer service, administration and purchasing, I’ve developed a strong understanding of what it takes to keep business operations running smoothly. My background includes five years specialising in industrial automation purchasing, where I gained valuable experience in component sourcing, supplier coordination and supporting customer requirements.

I joined CJS Automation in April 2023, and one of the most rewarding parts of my role has been helping to build the business and watching it grow. As Director of Operations, I oversee the day-to-day running of the company, working closely with our team to coordinate priorities, keep processes running efficiently and ensure customers receive the support they need.

I particularly enjoy making sure everything runs smoothly and that customers are kept informed throughout the process. Sometimes it’s the smaller details that make the biggest difference, whether that’s keeping an order on track, resolving an unexpected issue or making sure something arrives when it’s needed. I take pride in knowing that the work we do behind the scenes makes a real difference to our customers.

For me, good operations come down to clear communication, teamwork and attention to detail. No two days are quite the same, and I enjoy the variety and challenges that come with keeping a growing business running smoothly.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, travelling and making the most of opportunities to get away and enjoy a change of scenery.
