Returns and Refunds Policy

You are entitled to return your order within 30 days. If we receive no communication from you within 7 days of delivery regarding any issues with the items you have had delivered, we will assume you have received the items in full working order and with no problems.

The deadline for returning your order is 30 days from the date you received the goods or on which a third party you have appointed, who is not the carrier, takes possession of the product delivered. You must notify us within 7 days of receiving your order if you have a problem with the goods you have received.

In order to exercise your right of return, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement.

We will reimburse you no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive the returned goods.

Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original order.

Please note:
If stocked goods are returned for reasons other than being faulty, damaged, or incorrectly supplied by us, including where the customer orders the wrong item, a 20% restocking fee will apply.

This fee covers inspection, handling, and restocking of the returned goods. Returned goods must be in unused, resaleable condition and in the original packaging. Any item returned not meeting these conditions may be rejected or subject to a higher restocking charge.

Manufacturer / Special Orders – Non-Cancellable
Any items ordered from a manufacturer, factory, or third-party supplier specifically for a customer — including items ordered directly from the manufacturer — are classed as special orders.

All manufacturer or special orders are non-cancellable once the order has been placed, regardless of delivery status, lead time changes, or delays advised by the manufacturer.

This restriction is imposed by the manufacturer and is outside of CJS Automation’s control. By placing such an order, the customer accepts that the order is firm and non-cancellable.

• Any items not held in CJS Automation stock and procured specifically against a customer order are classed as special orders
• This includes standard manufacturer part numbers supplied on lead time
• All such orders are non-cancellable and non-returnable once placed, regardless of delays or changes in manufacturer lead times

Any delivery dates or lead times provided by the Company (whether 4–6 weeks or otherwise) are estimates only and represent the current guidance of the third-party manufacturer. Time of delivery shall not be of the essence of the Contract. The Company shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, damages, or costs caused by any delay in delivery, howsoever caused, including delays by the manufacturer.

The Buyer acknowledges that Special Orders are procured from independent third-party manufacturers (e.g., Schneider, Omron, Siemens etc) whose production schedules are outside the Company’s control. By placing a Special Order, the Buyer explicitly accepts the risk of severe manufacturer delays and agrees that a delay of any duration by the manufacturer shall not constitute a breach of contract by the Company, nor shall it entitle the Buyer to terminate the contract, withhold payment, or initiate a financial chargeback.

If the Buyer initiates a chargeback, bank reversal, or dispute via a payment provider for a Special Order delayed by the manufacturer, the Buyer shall be in fundamental breach of this Agreement. The Buyer agrees to indemnify the Company for the full value of the order, plus an administrative fee of £250 and all legal recovery costs incurred by the Company to reclaim the funds.

The statutory implied term under Section 29(3) of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 regarding delivery within a ‘reasonable time’ is hereby expressly excluded from this Contract.

Returns for Special Orders:

For items that are not stocked at CJS Automation and are specially ordered from a supplier:

• If the supplier accepts a return, the refund amount will be minus shipping fees (both the initial shipping cost to us and the cost to return the item to the supplier).
• If the item cannot be returned to the supplier, the order is non-refundable.
• a 50% restocking fee will apply for all special order items if the supplier accepts the return

All items sourced specifically for a customer are supplied strictly against the requested part number.

CJS Automation is not responsible for differences in:

• Internal revisions
• Firmware versions
• Hardware configuration

where these are controlled by the manufacturer and not identifiable from the external part number.

Product Compatibility & Configuration

Automation parts are supplied based on the manufacturer’s part number and description.

Unless explicitly confirmed in writing, CJS Automation does not guarantee:

• Compatibility with existing systems or installations
• Matching firmware versions, internal configurations, or device identifiers
• Plug-and-play replacement with previously installed units

It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the part is suitable for their application prior to purchase.

Returns will not be accepted for incompatibility issues where the correct part number has been supplied.

Returns for Stocked Items:

• If the item was shipped from our own stock, returns are accepted provided the item is returned in the same condition as received.
• A restocking fee of 20% will apply for stocked items, and the item will be added back to our inventory.

Refund Processing

• Refunds will be processed once the item has been received and inspected by the supplier. If a refund is granted, it will be issued using the original payment method.

Important Notes

• Shipping costs are non-refundable for special orders.
• Customers must arrange and cover return shipping fees unless otherwise agreed.
• To request a cancellation or return, contact info@cjsautomation.com as soon as possible.

Conditions for Returns:

In order for the goods to be eligible for a return, please make sure that –

• The goods were purchased in the last 14 days and you have notified us in the first within the first 7 days of receiving your goods
• The goods are in the original packaging and the same condition as on delivery, i.e. new sealed parts have to be returned to us in new sealed condition

The following goods cannot be returned:

• The supply of goods made to your specifications or clearly personalized
• The supply of goods which are, after delivery, according to their nature, inseparably mixed with other items
• We reserve the right to refuse returns of any goods that does not meet the above return conditions at our sole discretion

Failed Delivery & Return to Sender:

If delivery fails due to the recipient being unavailable, failing to collect, or refusing the goods, and the parcel is returned to us, we reserve the right to retain all shipping and handling costs. No refund will be issued for goods returned under these circumstances unless agreed in writing. If the goods are returned damaged or unsellable due to the failed delivery process, no refund will be issued.

Returning Goods:

Cost of shipping may or may not be returned to you depending on a case by case basis.

We cannot be held responsible for goods damaged or lost in return shipment unless shipped on our account. Therefore, we recommend an insured and trackable courier service. We are unable to issue a refund without actual receipt of the goods or proof of received return delivery.
