Terms and Conditions
Please read these terms and conditions carefully before using Our Service.
Returns and Refunds Policy
You are entitled to return your order within 30 days. If we receive no communication from you within 7 days of delivery regarding any issues with the items you have had delivered, we will assume you have received the items in full working order and with no problems.
The deadline for returning your order is 30 days from the date you received the goods or on which a third party you have appointed, who is not the carrier, takes possession of the product delivered. You must notify us within 7 days of receiving your order if you have a problem with the goods you have received.
In order to exercise your right of return, you must inform us of your decision by means of a clear statement.
You can inform us of your decision by e-mail: info@cjsautomation.com
We will reimburse you no later than 14 days from the day on which we receive the returned goods.
Refunds will be processed using the same payment method used for the original order.
Please note:
If stocked goods are returned for reasons other than being faulty, damaged, or incorrectly supplied by us, including where the customer orders the wrong item, a 20% restocking fee will apply.
This fee covers inspection, handling, and restocking of the returned goods. Returned goods must be in unused, resaleable condition and in the original packaging. Any item returned not meeting these conditions may be rejected or subject to a higher restocking charge.
Manufacturer / Special Orders – Non-Cancellable
Any items ordered from a manufacturer, factory, or third-party supplier specifically for a customer — including items ordered directly from the manufacturer — are classed as special orders.
All manufacturer or special orders are non-cancellable once the order has been placed, regardless of delivery status, lead time changes, or delays advised by the manufacturer.
This restriction is imposed by the manufacturer and is outside of CJS Automation’s control. By placing such an order, the customer accepts that the order is firm and non-cancellable.
- Any items not held in CJS Automation stock and procured specifically against a customer order are classed as special orders
- This includes standard manufacturer part numbers supplied on lead time
- All such orders are non-cancellable and non-returnable once placed, regardless of delays or changes in manufacturer lead times
Any delivery dates or lead times provided by the Company (whether 4–6 weeks or otherwise) are estimates only and represent the current guidance of the third-party manufacturer. Time of delivery shall not be of the essence of the Contract. The Company shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss, damages, or costs caused by any delay in delivery, howsoever caused, including delays by the manufacturer.
The Buyer acknowledges that Special Orders are procured from independent third-party manufacturers (e.g., Schneider, Omron, Siemens etc) whose production schedules are outside the Company’s control. By placing a Special Order, the Buyer explicitly accepts the risk of severe manufacturer delays and agrees that a delay of any duration by the manufacturer shall not constitute a breach of contract by the Company, nor shall it entitle the Buyer to terminate the contract, withhold payment, or initiate a financial chargeback.
If the Buyer initiates a chargeback, bank reversal, or dispute via a payment provider for a Special Order delayed by the manufacturer, the Buyer shall be in fundamental breach of this Agreement. The Buyer agrees to indemnify the Company for the full value of the order, plus an administrative fee of £250 and all legal recovery costs incurred by the Company to reclaim the funds.
The statutory implied term under Section 29(3) of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 regarding delivery within a ‘reasonable time’ is hereby expressly excluded from this Contract.
Delivery Dates, Delays and Customer Penalties
Any delivery date, dispatch date or lead time provided by CJS Automation Ltd is an estimate only and is based on information available from the manufacturer, supplier or carrier at the time of quotation or order confirmation.
Time for delivery shall not be of the essence unless expressly agreed in writing by a director of CJS Automation Ltd.
CJS Automation Ltd shall not be liable for any delay caused by a manufacturer, supplier, carrier, customs authority, government authority, shortage of materials, production issue or any other event outside the Company’s reasonable control.
The Buyer shall not be entitled to impose, deduct, set off or recover any late-delivery penalty, liquidated damages, service credit, chargeback or other charge unless CJS Automation Ltd expressly agreed to that liability in writing before accepting the order.
CJS Automation Ltd shall not be liable for any penalty or liability imposed upon the Buyer by the Buyer’s own customer or any third party, unless the Company expressly accepted that liability in writing before the order was placed.
The Company shall not be liable for any loss of production, loss of use, loss of business, loss of revenue, loss of profit, loss of contract, loss of anticipated savings, downtime costs or any indirect or consequential loss arising from delayed delivery.
Where liability for delay cannot lawfully be excluded, the Company’s total liability shall not exceed the price paid for the specific item or items directly affected by the delay.
Returns for Special Orders:
For items that are not stocked at CJS Automation and are specially ordered from a supplier:
- If the supplier accepts a return, the refund amount will be minus shipping fees (both the initial shipping cost to us and the cost to return the item to the supplier).
- If the item cannot be returned to the supplier, the order is non-refundable.
- a 50% restocking fee will apply for all special order items if the supplier accepts the return
All items sourced specifically for a customer are supplied strictly against the requested part number.
CJS Automation is not responsible for differences in:
- Internal revisions
- Firmware versions
- Hardware configuration
where these are controlled by the manufacturer and not identifiable from the external part number.
Product Compatibility & Configuration
Automation parts are supplied based on the manufacturer’s part number and description.
Unless explicitly confirmed in writing, CJS Automation does not guarantee:
- Compatibility with existing systems or installations
- Matching firmware versions, internal configurations, or device identifiers
- Plug-and-play replacement with previously installed units
It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the part is suitable for their application prior to purchase.
Returns will not be accepted for incompatibility issues where the correct part number has been supplied.
Returns for Stocked Items:
- If the item was shipped from our own stock, returns are accepted provided the item is returned in the same condition as received.
- A restocking fee of 20% will apply for stocked items, and the item will be added back to our inventory.
Refund Processing
- Refunds will be processed once the item has been received and inspected by the supplier. If a refund is granted, it will be issued using the original payment method.
Payment, Credit Accounts and Retention of Title
Payment Terms
Unless otherwise agreed in writing by CJS Automation Ltd (“the Company”), all Goods must be paid for in full before dispatch.
Where the Company has expressly granted the Buyer credit or account terms, payment shall be made in full by the due date stated on the relevant invoice.
The granting of credit terms on one or more orders does not create an ongoing entitlement to credit. The Company may review, reduce, suspend or withdraw a Buyer’s credit facility or credit limit at any time.
The Buyer shall pay all amounts due to the Company in full without deduction, withholding, counterclaim or set-off, except where required by law.
Any dispute concerning an invoice must be raised promptly and shall not entitle the Buyer to withhold payment of any undisputed amount.
Overdue Accounts

Where applicable, the Company reserves the right to claim statutory interest, fixed compensation and reasonable debt recovery costs in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 and associated legislation.
Retention of Title
Risk of loss of or damage to the Goods shall pass to the Buyer upon delivery.
However, legal and beneficial title to the Goods shall not pass to the Buyer until CJS Automation Ltd has received payment in full and in cleared funds for those Goods.
Until ownership of the Goods has passed to the Buyer, the Buyer shall:
- hold the Goods as bailee for CJS Automation Ltd;
- store the Goods separately from other goods where reasonably practicable;
- ensure that the Goods remain readily identifiable as goods supplied by CJS Automation Ltd;
- maintain the Goods in satisfactory condition;
- keep the Goods adequately insured against loss or damage for their full replacement value; and
- not pledge, charge or otherwise use the Goods as security for any indebtedness.
The Buyer may use or resell the Goods in the ordinary course of its business unless and until the Buyer’s right to possession terminates under these Terms.
Recovery of Unpaid Goods
The Buyer’s right to possession of Goods for which title remains with CJS Automation Ltd shall terminate immediately if:
- payment for those Goods becomes overdue;
- the Buyer materially breaches its payment obligations to the Company;
- the Buyer suspends or threatens to suspend payment of its debts;
- the Buyer is unable to pay its debts as they fall due;
- the Buyer enters or proposes administration, liquidation, bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency proceedings or any arrangement with creditors; or
- the Company reasonably believes that the Buyer’s financial position has deteriorated to such an extent that its ability to pay amounts owed to the Company is at risk.
In such circumstances, CJS Automation Ltd may require the Buyer immediately to return any Goods for which title has not passed.
If the Buyer fails to return the Goods following a lawful request, the Buyer shall, to the extent permitted by applicable law, permit CJS Automation Ltd and its authorised representatives to enter premises under the Buyer’s possession or control at a reasonable time for the purpose of identifying a

Interest shall accrue from the date the payment becomes overdue until the date payment is received in full.
CJS Automation Ltd also reserves the right to claim any fixed compensation and reasonable debt recovery costs to which it is entitled under applicable late-payment legislation.
The charging or non-charging of interest or recovery costs on any particular occasion shall not constitute a waiver of CJS Automation Ltd’s right to claim such amounts in relation to that or any other overdue payment.
